Hello all new and returning MASCLab members,
Hard to believe summer is ending and the Fall 2021 semester begins tomorrow! We are looking forward to getting connected or re-connected in the first weeks of the new semester.
The MASCLab is hosting our first social event of the semester on Friday September 17th from 4-6pm. Please join us as we re-connect, spend time together and look forward to MASCLab in AY 21-22! Save the date and time, we will send an update in next week’s newsletter about where the event will be held.
There will be more information coming soon about our general weekly MASCLab meetings but in the meantime check out the work of our ongoing project groups. Currently our project groups are continuing to meet online via the zoom platform. Meeting time information is shared below, all are welcome (new or returning members).

Podcast Project Team
Check out the #podcast channel on Slack to connect with this project team.
Want to keep in touch with MASCLab? Join our Slack! It’s the most practical way to start jumping right in pitching and joining up with others to work on projects. Here are the instructions:
- You can sign-up here: https://masclabgroup.slack.com/x-93531721492-93549909537/signup
- If you do not have a @tc.columbia.edu email, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to our Slack–Masclabgroup. There are a bunch of project channels, and you can choose which you want to join, which you want to receive messages from, if any, etc. With Slack you can choose to “mute” channels by going to the channel settings. This means you only receive messages from those projects you are interested in. You can also add documents.
- #labtalk is our general lab message center in Slack. The rest represent specific projects. Let us know if there are other projects which need a channel.
